The past week
Well its been a while since I updated the blog with what we've been up to. Right now I'm sitting here taking a day off with sick kids so figure I'll update...
Jan 15 - SeaWorld
Last time we go here for sure. It really didn't help that it was really cold and we weren't prepared for it. We saw some shows which were alright but not worth the cost. The only good part was that the kids got to feed the dolphins.
Jan 16 - Day off...kinda
More or less took this day off. Went to the mall for a bit and walked around downtown Disney again ( part that we hadn't done before )
Jan 17 - Universal again
Since we bought our Universal tickets on-line, we got unlimited access to both parks so we went again hoping it wouldn't been too busy even though it was the weekend....wrong...little did we know that they were celebrating some national championship at the park. Still we had fun and the kids got to ride the rides they wanted ( Kiera's favorite, the carousel had no lineups at all so she got to ride it over and over ).
Jan 18 - Epcot
Well we weren't sure if this was a good idea or not but we took the kids to Epcot. Turned out to be a good day. They have this new thing there called "Kim Possible" where the kids get to go on secret missions in the pavilions. They get these cell phones which play videos to tell them their missions and then they interact with parts of the pavilions, like take their picture and send it to their phone etc.
Jan 19 - Pool day
It was a long weekend this past weekend so we decided to stay at the house on Monday and swim.
Jan 20 - Universal
Mel and I left the kids at the house and went down to Universal alone. It wasn't very busy so we were able to ride the coasters over and over. We did the Mummy twice, the Hulk twice, Dueling Dragons, Twister ( sucks ), Disaster ( sucks ) and other stuff as well.
Jan 21 - Sick Sick Sick
The kids were a bit sick yesterday but are really sick today. They both went for their first afternoon nap in the past 3 years so we are just hanging out. Its also really cold out today ( only about 10c ). Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so we will head out to Hollywood studios again, Magic Kingdom on Friday and then back to Ottawa on Sat :(

Wednesday - Universal studio
Today was Universal. So far I would say this was the best day for the kids. They have a huge area of Dr. Seuse that the kids loved. They also have "The Hulk" roller coaster that we loved...although with a bad neck it really killed me and I couldn't ride it a second time today. We are planning on going back to this park though so hopefully I will get to ride it a few times. Riley had a great day, he LOVED the spiderman ride, riding it 4 or 5 times at least. He also loves roller coasters, riding the Woddy woodpecker one at least 5 times. As you can guess the park was dead, we picked a good time to come. There we no waits for any rides we wanted to go on. You could ride, get off, go back to the start and ride again over and over if you wanted.
Here is the Hulk:

Plan for tomorrow is Sea World!!!

Tuesday- Disney Hollywood studios
Yesterday we did Disney Hollywood studios ( formerly MGM ). This was the park that the kids liked the best last year and they liked it again. They got to see a High School Musical performance, pose with the power rangers and see the "lights, motors, action" show which is a stunt performance with car chasing. It is really amazing how these drivers control their cars. We also went to the "Indiana Jones" stunt show as well. Mel and I rode the new "Aerosmith" roller coaster that starts by shooting you out at full speed rather than pulling you up a hill and dropping you down...wow what a ride! We also did the "tower of terror" which Mel says she can't do anymore....guess she's getting old :)
Here are some pics.

Pictures can't do "lights, engines, action" justice so here is a video

Here we are...Disney
Hi all...here we are in Disney. Finally getting a chance to upload some pictures tonight. Saturday we flew in and the weather was just perfect in Florida, sunny and 25 degrees. Kids went straight for the pool. Sunday was another gorgeous day and we all headed out to the Magic Kingdom with pics below. Monday was cool and cloudy, we went to downtown Disney and took the kids mini golfing. Today we headed out to Hollywood studios to ride the new Aerosmith coaster and so the kids could see the power rangers and stuff. Was lots of fun but then we got some rain.
Kiera and Payton waited in line to see the fairies. One of them told Kiera that she is not called "Dewdrop" so that is what she wants to be called now :). While they were doing that, Riley and I rode a rollercoaster 4 times!

We took the kids on the Pirates of the Carribean ride. Here is Riley in the gift shop.

It's a New Year!
It was a quiet christmas for us here. Usually we go to Winnipeg or Family visits us but this year it was just the four of us. There was no running around or trying to be a three places at once, our only major decision was what we should do during the day. That being said,Christmas Day was slow paced. the kids woke us up around 7:30. They opened stockings, had a quick breakfast and then we opened gifts. They were excited to see what Santa brought, but we saved that present for last. The kids loved all their presents, even the clothes. The kids played with the games they received and video taped with their new camera. Ron made a nice brunch and we hung around for the afternoon. Although we did get a phone call from out hospital telling us Riley and Kiera had strep throat and we needed to pick up anti biotics. Ron was getting over strep and I think I was about to get it.
Later we headed for dinner across the street to the Warywodas. Crystal made a tasty turkey, along with stuffing, cabbage rolls etc. After supper the kids ran around playing games and finally ended the night watching a movie. Boxing day was not very exciting. I ended up at the doctor and found out I had an ear infection and probably - you guess it - strep throat. So I spent the day in bed.
The rest of our holiday we didn't do anything we planned like snowshoeing etc.. but that was because of a lack of snow. When it did get cold enough Ron built our hockey rink. It took a bit of time, but it's done and the kids love it. Riley has been out there everyday, sometime more than once a day skating and playing hockey.
The kids only have 5 days left to enjoy the rink, as we will be off to the Sunshine State for some fun and relaxation. - Disney here we come.
I think I'm the most excited for going to Florida. Kiera is excited to see Grandma and Grandpa and Riley to see - well "Everything". It will be nice to get away. So we'll keep you updated while we're gone.
