Here fishy
Getting good use of the boat so far this year. Taken the kids out twice so far. The lake here is great for the kids, they catch fish as fast as I can take the fish off and put a new worm on. Not much fishing for me but oh well. Mostly they catch bluegill and perch. Kiera likes the perch better since they're smaller, she's a bit scared of the bigger bluegill. She's funny too because she gets tired of fishing but then complains that Riley's catching fish and she isn't...go figure.

Here is a catfish Riley caught...guess his lure was in the mud :) Pretty heavy fish though.
And here is Riley's favorite fish. He had to tell everyone at the dock about how he caught a Walleye

Canada Day!
The celebration is over and now we are tired and recouperating. It was a long day. The kids went swimming in the morning, then we headed down to the Beach where they had Canada Day festivities. We only stayed for about 1/2 to see what was there, then headed home for the BBQ. At three o'clock our friends started to arrive. Once everyone was here, we all headed to the pool for a swim. It was a perfect day -sunny warm weather and a warm pool. Everyone enjoyed themselves, especially the kids. We also munched on snacks , ( the kids eating their weight in chips) we had a later supper. After supper the kids played while the adults chatted, unless you were one of the guys watching Trevor showing off his RC car :) Ron and I had planned on having fireworks at our house but then decided we should all go down to the beach. So around 9:30pm we headed to the beach, found our place on the sand and waited. The fireworks were amazing. If you were lying on the sand it looked like they were right over top of you. Needless to say everyone had a great time, and we were all glad we headed into Carleton Place to see them. Hope you enjoy the pics.

June Happenings
I can't believe it's almost the end of the month, it's gone by so fast. We were off to a bad start this month with Riley breaking his arm but it's actually turning out to be a great month. I took Riley to the Doctor last week and found out, he will only be in his cast for 2 more weeks. As of today only 5 more days. That means he will be cast free for the summer and can go back to swimming and riding the ATV.
We also celebrated Kieras 4th birthday. She had a princess party with some of the girls from her nursery school. It was very cute. I sent out the invitations looked like a scroll, and asked the girls to come dressed as their favorite princess. Once everyone arrived we had lunch, then cake.(I made a sleeping beauty cake) , then we did a craft, and the kids played for a bit and then it was time for presents. Kiera was so excited she didn't know what to do first. She was very happy with all her gifts especially the stuffed cat and a barbie that came with some dogs.

On friday Kiera had a little graduation at her nursery school. She wanted to dress up, so she put on her christmas dress to go to school. At her ceremony, she was given a book and a certificate. Next Friday is her last day, then she will start JK in September. Riley has his Kindergarten cermony on Tuesday - which is his last day of school. He is excited for summer vacation . I think it's because his cast comes off on Friday.

This past weekend we kept the kids busy. Kiera got a summer hair cut. It's cute but takes a bit to get used to since it's short. The main thing is she loves it and it will be easy to maintain since she's in the pool everyday. Riley on the other hand does not want his hair cut. He is growing it long. On Saturday, we went for a hike to mill of kintail where we went for a hike. The kids love it. Then after supper we had a campfire fire and then decided to sleep in our tent. Wow that was hard. Iit's been 2 years since we camped and the kids were so excited they didn't want to go to sleep. We ended up laying with them, which means we went to sleep too. And wouldn't you know it, in the middle of the night it starts raining. Always happens when we camp. Anyway it makes for a tiring next day. Happy end of June.

More on the ATV
Well we got a break in the weather yesterday so the kids were able to play with the ATV and we got some videos. They both really like it. Kiera is only allowed to drive it with an adult which is fine by her since that way she get to go fast...and this thing goes fast, up to 45km/h. Of course it has a governor on it so we can limit the max speed. Mel and I are pretty jealous!
